Creating eBooks for PSP and DS + UPDATE

Gamefries has a quick tutorial on a software called PaperlessPrinter making ANY PRINTABLE DOCUMENT into an eBook for use on PSP or DS. The software is like similar warez that print to PDF - but it prints to a customized aspect ratio of sequentially named JPGs.

The PSP will permit you to simply drop these JPGs on a stick but the DS is a little trickier. Once you have your images - it's just a matter of packaging up those JPGs with one of the many GBA slideshow softwares and Flashing to a writable cart.

It's free and you're bored - get to it.

Exactly how does this work with the DS? Is there a way to view jpgs on it that I don't know about?

Thank you for posting the psp news. as an owner of both, i've got to say I am liking the psp a bit more. If there is a big uproar for psp new, I'd like if you made a seperate but similar site keeping up on the psp mods news, but over all there shouldn't be a huge up roar.

There's already 6+ other PSP mod sites.

I dont want a psp mod site... I want a site that keeps track of all the psp mod sites like this one does for the ds.

This isn't a PSP mod site now - it's an modding site... as it always has been. The DS is a great machine and it's cheap. Cheap enough for anyone to buy. That's what I like about it and that hasn't changed. The PSP occupies roughly the same market as the DS and so bares mentioning. There are more PSP postings now because this is an exciting time for PSP stuff. Try to be flexible.

Yeah, Citrus Sours tins are exciting! Though, you make a good point. PSP modding news will die off shortly.

I don't think the PSP is all that great. Sure, it can do all these cool and fansy things. But it's big, it's cumbersome, and it has a short battery life. It doesn't fit into your pocket, and you can't use it for very long outside of your home; but it's called a portable gaming console. It's cool that you can do the eBook thing, and the internet thing; but you might as well just get a low end laptop.

^ in responce to above ^

Obviously you haven't held a psp then. Because I own both and can tell you that the psp over all is SMALLER than a DS. I even went out and took some picture for you = ]

Truth is while the psp has 3/8th of an inch on the ds length wise on both sides, the height of a psp is half an inch less and is much thinner than the ds. Its far from cumbersome, psp is a little more confortable just cuz it doesn't have the corners the DS has when using the d-pad + buttons.

Every one is entitled to their own opinions, but not their own facts.

Does it fit in your pocket? (and as an aside point, would you want to carry it in your pocket even if it did fit?)

while the psp doesn't have screen protection by default (so yea, it doesn't quite fit in my pocket with a case that also holds four games and two memory cards and a cleaning cloth...) the psp has one minor bonus point over the ds.

the psp actually has /games/ available for it. not minigames.

i own both. i've had the ds since november, and i've been waiting for a real game to come out for it that whole time. i picked up a psp on launch, and there were a ton of /real games/ available, and i picked a few up.

It fits very nicely in my pocket, and why wouldn't I want it in there. I put a lil screen film on both my ds and psp (gotta say the ds touch screen was a pain to put on) and the soft case that the psp came with is perfect to put in your pocket... even has a ill extra room for the head phones to be plugged into so I can listen to music while its in my pocket. Put it in hold mode and i dont have to worry about hitting any buttons on the unit. Add to the fact that the remote that came with it allows me to change the tracks of the song with out taking it out of my pocket and I have the screen set to turn off in 2 min so not wasting batter life while listening to music. = ]
